We have collected and distributed over 800 pounds of food in 2024 alone. Till date close a little over 1300 lbs of bread has been "saved" from going to waste!
We partner with local restaurants and bakeries to match donors and suppliers. We have a total of 5 partners who we work with closely each week!
The organization is looking for additional volunteers who can help out over the weekend for collecting and transporting bread donations locally around the Doylestown PA area starting Summer 2025.
At Bridge Hunger, we believe in the power of partnerships. That's why we work closely with local businesses and restaurants to rescue excess food that would otherwise go to waste, and distribute it to those in need in our community.
Our key partner for donations of bread in 2024 was Lubertos in Pipersville. Pictured here is Arya Haridas (Founder) in the center with Luberto's Bakery and Deli in Pipersville, with their amazing team who was instrumental in offering to freeze bread each day to then be picked up on a weekly basis.
Founded in 2024, Food Bridge has been established to overcome food wastage problem in local Doylestown and surrounding area. We aim to grow across the country and provide a way local high school students can make a difference in their communities in a meaningful way.
The idea was a simple one- if we can "save" one loaf of bread from going to waste, its a win-win-win situation for bakeries, food banks and donors/volunteers and it is better for the environment too!
Pictured here is a volunteer from Heaven's Bounty Food Pantry at the First Church of the Brethren in Quakertown. This food pantry serves thousands of people each year! This is just one of the partner organizations we have \ worked with!
